Trust, AI, and Founder IP

Last updated June 8, 2026

Red Lion is built for founders, university programs, and accelerator operators who treat venture work as sensitive. This page explains how we handle founder IP, what we store, how Red Lion Intel uses AI, and what the standard environment is not designed for. It is informational, not legal advice.

Founder ownership

Founder drafts, Venture Analysis content, and venture materials remain the founder's work. Red Lion does not claim ownership of founder ideas, venture concepts, or submitted drafts.

What Red Lion stores

Depending on how you use the product, we may store:

  • Founder module drafts and workstream content
  • Module completion status and tracker metadata
  • Cohort membership and program context
  • Mentor or director notes where that workflow is enabled
  • Red Lion Intel outputs when a founder or reviewer runs Intel
  • Venture Readiness Briefs and export artifacts derived from the above

Who can access founder work

  • The founder who owns the venture workspace.
  • Authorized cohort admins and directors for ventures in their cohort.
  • Authorized mentors or reviewers when that workflow is enabled for the program.
  • Red Lion operators only as needed for support, security, abuse response, or service operations.

Founder work is not published publicly by default. Share links and exports are user- or admin-controlled. Anyone with a valid share link can view what that link exposes until it is revoked.

How Red Lion Intel uses AI

Red Lion Intel is currently powered by Anthropic's commercial API. The value of Red Lion Intel is not raw access to a model. It is Red Lion's structured venture-review layer: module-specific guidance, cross-module context, founder-stage calibration, and review logic grounded in leading entrepreneurship, validation, and venture-development frameworks.

Anthropic provides the commercial foundation model. Red Lion provides the venture-development system around it.

Selected module content and venture context may be sent to Anthropic's commercial API to generate Red Lion Intel for that request. We do not opt in to third-party foundation models learning from founder content. Provider terms may allow limited retention for service operations, abuse monitoring, legal compliance, or safety. Red Lion stores Intel outputs so founders and reviewers can return to them.

Retention boundaries are governed by provider agreements as well as Red Lion's agreements with those vendors, not by Red Lion alone. We do not submit founder drafts through consumer chatbot accounts.

The architecture is designed to support additional model routing over time, but production Red Lion Intel currently runs through Anthropic's commercial API.

What not to submit

Do not submit classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), export-controlled technical data, protected health information (PHI), regulated student data beyond the authorized educational use, trade secrets you are not authorized to share, or third-party confidential information unless a separate written agreement and appropriate deployment controls are in place.

The standard Red Lion environment is not designed for classified, CUI, or export-controlled workflows.

Legal and IP boundary

Red Lion Intel is not legal advice. It does not determine patentability, trademark clearance, infringement, ownership, securities compliance, entity choice, or funding legality. It helps founders surface questions to bring to qualified counsel.

Sharing and exports

  • Share links and exports are user- or admin-controlled.
  • Red Lion Intel and mentor or director feedback are optional layers in Venture Readiness Briefs and exports.
  • Shared links and default exports do not include Intel or mentor feedback unless those layers were explicitly enabled.
  • Export UI indicates which layers are included before download.

Security posture

  • Authenticated access with role- and cohort-scoped permissions.
  • Hosted infrastructure with TLS in transit.
  • Data is encrypted at rest and in transit where supported by our hosting and database providers.
  • Red Lion uses hosted infrastructure providers that publish SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security information. Red Lion itself does not hold those certifications unless separately stated in writing.
  • Passwords handled by the authentication provider; Red Lion user profile tables do not store raw passwords.
  • Share links use unguessable tokens; owners and admins can revoke them.
  • Report security issues to tfox@raincrowstudios.com. See our security page.

No system is perfectly secure. We do not claim FedRAMP, CMMC, ITAR, HIPAA, FERPA, COPPA, or CUI compliance for the standard environment.

Enterprise and regulated deployments

Organizations with heightened data requirements should contact Red Lion before onboarding sensitive projects. Defense, CUI, export-controlled, health, or other regulated workflows may require separate agreements, configuration, and deployment controls.

AI data handling FAQ

Are founder drafts used to improve third-party AI models?
No. We do not opt in to third-party foundation models learning from founder content. Red Lion Intel is powered by Anthropic's commercial API today, subject to provider terms. The review layer is Red Lion's methodology-governed venture-development system, not raw model access.
Does Red Lion use identifiable founder or student work to build its own models?
Not by default. If Red Lion later develops aggregate learning systems, we will separate that from identifiable founder drafts and update policies before using customer content in new ways.
What data is sent to the model provider?
Only the module content and venture context needed to generate the requested Red Lion Intel through Anthropic's commercial API.
Can Red Lion Intel be disabled?
Program configurations can support manual review workflows. For highly sensitive ventures, contact Red Lion before using AI review.
Who can see my drafts?
The founder, authorized cohort admins and directors, authorized reviewers or mentors if enabled, and Red Lion operators only as needed for support or security.
Is Red Lion legal advice?
No.
Can I put classified, CUI, or export-controlled information into Red Lion?
No, not in the standard environment.
Can I delete or export my work?
You can export Venture Readiness Briefs and drafts through the product. To request account or workspace deletion, contact Red Lion at the email on this page.
